Chelsea Wildlife Friendly Plants & Flowers

The beautiful thing about our gardens is the way we can share the space with all the different types of wildlife who choose to stop by or call it a home. As gardeners we can make these spaces as friendly as possible for wildlife, by choosing nectar-rich and open flowers so bees can easily access their food supply, by leaving certain areas to go a bit wild, by putting up nesting boxes, by not using chemical controls or by simply putting some seed out for the birds.

A bumbling bee buzzing around a delphinium is not an uncommon sight at Chelsea Flower Show, and many of the beautiful gardens on show are often built with wildlife-friendly plants and pollinators in mind. We have picked a few of our favourites, including some that will be on show in our own ‘Food For Thought’ garden, so you can create your own haven for wildlife.
