Add a tropical touch to the garden with Abutilon megapotanicum. This elegant half-hardy shrub has gracefully arching branches that bear colourful yellow and red bell-shaped flowers from early summer well into autumn.

Suitable for a sheltered sunny garden in mild areas, it can also be grown in a large pot and moved into a greenhouse or conservatory over winter. Abutilon megapotanicum holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Trim lightly in mid to late spring if needed to remove any awkwardly-placed shoots.

Dig a hole approximately twice as deep and 3 times as wide as the plant’s rootball. If your soil is heavy mix in a soil improver before backfilling. Firm the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
