We are excited about Greenic, because in recent trials it has excelled over the past few seasons. It has provided consistent, strong yields season after season.

You can expect well-uniformed spears of asparagus with a, particularly beautiful tip at the end of the spear.

Class 1 yields of Asparagus will be your earliest riser, ready to harvest and bring into your kitchen. The aesthetically pleasing look of the asparagus makes them perfect for gourmet dishes.

When either fried, steamed or boiled Greenic offers a wonderfully rich taste, simply season lightly with salt and pepper or add a knob of butter to enhance its wonderful flavour.

Crown Age and Bed Establishment

These crowns are 1 year old and will be in their 2nd year as you plant them this spring. Usually, an asparagus bed takes 3 years to start to be productive if planted with crowns. Best not to harvest any spears in year 1 and maybe 2. If in year 2 there are a lot of spears then the bed is productive, if only a handful, do not cut them and leave them in the ground. The reason for doing this is the energy of the plant needs to be focussed on increasing root volume and getting established, rather than energy into spear production. If you keep cutting the spears the plant will naturally want to produce more, rather than producing roots. This will in the long term produce a stronger plant and will produce heavier crops in subsequent seasons.
