At Marshalls we are excited to announce our new asparagus trio collection. Selected for a variety of reasons. Such as strong crops, long harvests, exciting colour and fantastic flavour.

Asparagus Burgundine The spears of asparagus Burgundine are tender, sweet and palatable on harvest; you can even eat them raw. Alternatively prepare versatile Asparagus Burgundine in the kitchen. Why not steam or sautée the spears with a little butter and serve with poached eggs.

Simply plant four to five crowns per lineal metre 30cm (12in) apart if planting in double rows.

Asparagus Vittorio, A favourite of many top-chefs due to its smooth texture and tight closed tips. Perfect for salads or garnishes. Similarly to Stewarts purple, you have the choice of colour with vittorio. You can grow stunning white stems or green spears to suit your taste.

Simply plant four to five crowns per lineal metre 30cm (12in) apart if planting in double rows.

Harvest April to May

Asparagus Millenium is selected as a late season cropper, thriving in hot weather in the months of late spring to early summer. Once you start picking after the first couple of years you’ll soon make your returns than if you buy high-end asparagus at the supermarket.

Tips for superior spears

Simply plant four-to five crowns per lineal metre, and 30cm (12in) apart if planting double rows.

For handsome harvests in the second and subsequent years, keep cropping in the first year to a minimum.
