- Easy to grow, no thinning required.
- Fast maturing variety.
- Shows good resistance to disease.
Holder of a RHS Award of Garden Merit, 'Solo' is a monogerm seed producing only one seedling per seed cluster, so thinning is unnecessary.
This fast maturing variety produces a crop of high quality, medium-sized beets which can be pulled young as baby beets or left to mature. 'Solo' exhibits smooth skinned, round roots with an exceptional sweet flavour.

How to Guide
March-July: Sow direct into the required harvest position, 2.5cm (1 in) deep. Keep soil moist at all times to prevent roots becoming dry and woody. Thin out to 10cm (4in) or 5cm (2in) for baby beets.
Use thinnings in baby leaf salads. Use fleece to protect crop from frost or cold wind. Twist off the tops to prevent “bleeding”. Beetroot can be lifted and stored in sand, ensure they are kept frost free.
