Hardy annual. Beautiful white single flowers with pink markings and a seed head which holds onto the seeds rather than some that allow the seeds to scatter.
Bake your own loaves and lightly sprinkle with your home-grown poppy seeds. Poppy seeds add texture and slate blue black colour whilst adding a nutty flavour to your baking.
Sow thickly in a patch for summer colour and early autumn harvests when the seed pod looks dry. Shell the seed heads and leave seeds to dry in the sun indoors for a few days before storing.
By sowing in a patch the poppy flowers keep themselves upright, but edges may require support. This poppy variety does not contain opiates.
