A perfect choice for containers, this crimson-flower variety has withstood the tests of time and come out on top in high yields, attractive flowers and suitability for growing in small spaces.
Sow individual seeds in containers or a soil bed that enjoys full sun and has free-draining soil. Sow seeds 5cm (2in) deep and 10cm (4in) apart. If you want more than one row, sow double rows 25cm (10in) between each single row, and 60cm (24in) between each double row.
Pinch out the growing tips of main stems when they are in full-flower. This deters the pest blackfly that likes to congregate on the succulent young growing tips.
