Home-grown vegetable fans will love growing this exciting new variety and the sight of it appearing and maturing in spring, summer and autumn. Broccoli Jacaranda is a wonderful mix of broccoli and cauliflower, offering the best of both worlds and a sweet and delicious taste.
It benefits from producing attractive and healthy purple curds with vibrant creamy-green stems below. It will stand out in your kitchen garden and allotment as a crop with character and style! Your pack of Broccoli Jacaranda seeds contains 15 seeds, which will mature into a memorable harvest. We recommend sowing seeds indoors between March and April, ready for planting out in the warmer weather of May and June.
Broccoli Jacaranda is usually ready for harvest in July to early October, giving a plate full of vegetables over a good period of time. Most growers prefer to lightly steam the vegetable to lock in the distinctive purple colouring and retain the sweet flavour. The head size is very pleasing and it can also be enjoyed raw as a healthy snack, dip or part of a salad.
Broccoli Jacaranda seeds should be sown thinly and covered lightly with good-quality soil or compost. As they grow, some thinning out will benefit the crop but generally, it’s very easy to grow, water and care for through the spring and summer. With all the good traits and taste of two of Britain’s most popular vegetables, Broccoli Jacaranda is a home-grown crop not to be missed!
Please note - These seeds should ideally be sown this season. All our packets have ‘Sow by Date’ guidance on them, this is the date the seeds should be sown in order to achieve the highest rate of germination. You will still see the same high-quality plants if sowing in seasons after the ‘Sow by Date’ but may see a reduction in germination rate
