- Introduce some paradise into your garden with this rare miniature variety
- Happy in UK gardens when treated to full sun
- Easy to plant large bulb
- Can be overwintered
- Beautiful when planted with summer bedding
Evocative late-summer blooms in lipstick-pink. Shorter than other cannas this variety is ideal to place in containers or to the front of borders for a line of colour when you plant several bulbs in an allotment row to bring in useful pollinating insects.
Canna leaves are large, thick and tropical-looking, giving you a taste of paradise and escape in your garden. Even in summer rain Canna Mini Orchid Beauty makes an impression with raindrops collecting on the strappy leaves.
Put Canna Mini Orchid Beauty with other summer bedding varieties like pink busy Lizzies, petunias in whites and pastels, or fuchsia in a range of pinks and purples to emphasise impact and intensity.
Want displays for longer than one season? We recommend that you dig up the bulb in November if it starts getting frosty outdoors.
Wash the soil off the bulb and leave it to dry in the sun for a few hours. Then place in a crate lined with newspaper and bury the bulb in dry compost to keep the bulb from drying out completely without being too wet. Overwinter in the greenhouse or in a dry shed and it will be ready to replant in the following spring.
