Description
- Deciduous shrub
- Rich blue flowers
- Flowers in August and September
- Attracts pollinators
- Grow in full sun
Rich blue flowers arranged in tight clusters smother the stem tips of Caryopteris cland. 'Grand Bleu'® in August and September. Pollinating insects are attracted to the nectar at the base of each flower which also display prominent stamens. Caryopteris cland. 'Grand Bleu'® is a deciduous shrub with small grey-green aromatic leaves. It grows in a neat rounded mound up to 1 metre high and wide.
Ideal for late summer colour in a Mediterranean themed border or in a wildlife garden placed in a sunny well-drained position towards the front of the border, Caryopteris cland. 'Grand Bleu'® also does well grown in a container. Once established it will tolerate some drought. Easy to maintain by pruning stems to two leaf buds from the previous year’s growth each spring and cutting any weak stems to the base.
How you will receive your plants:
Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant out.
Can’t plant straight away?
Place in a sheltered spot and water regularly to keep the compost moist.
Dig a hole approximately twice as deep and 3 times as wide as the plant’s rootball. If your soil is heavy mix in a soil improver before backfilling. Firm the soil around the plant and water thoroughly.
Water shrubs regularly in the first year after planting and in dry periods
