Description

Rose periwinkle ‘Joy’ forms a neat mound of glossy rich green leaves smothered in large flowers all summer. It makes a spectacular addition to the patio in large containers and also looks great in borders in full sun.
Sow indoors
February-March: Sow in a propagator, or in trays filled with seed compost and cover with a fine layer of vermiculite. Place in a warm spot (25°C / 75°F), keeping the compost moist, and keep in the dark until the seedlings appear, usually after 2-3 weeks. When large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3in) pots, keeping warm to start with.
Plant out
May-June: Slowly acclimatise to outdoor conditions, but do not plant out until the danger of frost has passed. Containers should be kept in a sunny, sheltered spot.
Tips
Protect from frost. Keep well watered, especially in warm spells, and feed regularly during the flowering season.
