Ceanothus, or Californian Lilac, are evergreen shrubs with small glossy leaves and fluffy flowers which are usually blue. Ceanothus griseus 'Yankee Point' has deep blue flowers. Its spreading form is useful for all year ground cover in a sunny border, with a mature plant growing to about 1 metre high and as much as 2.5 metres wide.
