Description

Add a touch of fiery colour to pots and borders with this mix of bushy well-branched plants. Celosia ‘Blaze’ is a fantastic mix of vibrant red and orange shades, flowering for many weeks in summer.
Sow indoors
February-March: Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface, and lightly cover them with a dusting of sifted compost. Place in the warmth 20-25°C (68-75°F), and keep moist. Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm (2in) apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively, transplant individually into 8cm (3in) pots.
Plant out
June: Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting from April onwards. Allow 25cm (10in) between plants.
Tips
Dead head regularly to encourage more flowers. Ideal as a cut flower for cottage garden bouquets.
