A really attractive, Italian heirloom variety with spicy hot, long thin red pepper pods. Use red for hot chillis sauce, use fresh for pizza, chilli dishes or dry for winter use and chilli flakes. Plants are easy to grow and produce generous crops of peppers with a rich, hot flavour.
Planting out: Plant into growing bags or the greenhouse border when the first flowers have opened.
Aftercare: Water regularly and feed with liquid fertiliser as fruits begin to swell.
Harvest: July –Sept. Peppers freeze well, Simply de- seed, cut into strips or rings and freeze raw. Ideal for adding to casseroles and stews.
