Also known as Aglaonema, chinese evergreens come with a range of leaf patterns but few can match the beauty of ‘Silver Bay’ with its lush green foliage generously daubed with silvery-white. This plant is easy to grow and suited to a range of light conditions and has been found to have air purifying properties. Includes 23cm grey cylinder pot.

Light up a room with the beautiful silvery-white leaf patterns of Aglaonema ‘Silver Bay’. This elegant plant, also known as Chinese evergreen, has lush, sword-like foliage that’s said to make a contribution to purifying the air.

This showy yet compact plant is easy to grow and suited to a range of light conditions.

Keep this plant in a conservatory or on a coffee table in good light or dappled shade, but not direct sunlight. Make sure the temperature of the room does not fall below 16C.

Keep the compost moist, although water sparingly March to November, and mist regularly to maintain a tropical environment like the Asian rain forests from which it originates. Feed from March to September and repot every three years. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and cut off any leaves that go brown.

Aglaonema can be toxic to pets.

Shrivelled leaves that can be caused by the air being too dry, a problem helped by misting. Curled brown edges can be caused by cooler temperatures or draughts. Watch for mealy bugs, which can be washed off.
