This attractive tree is perfect for a conservatory or sunny patio in summer, with glossy green leaves that look good all year round and fragrant white flowers followed by big, sweet orange fruits with very few pips. Valencia oranges are one of the most popular varieties, and this gorgeous tree will bring the Spanish countryside to your patio! Planted in a large container, it makes a beautiful focal point and can be moved outdoors in summer.
Supplied preplanted in matt white cylinder ceramic pot. These ceramics are designed for indoor use and have no drainage holes, so be careful not to overwater them. Transfer to a container with drainage holes if going to be grown outside.
The flowers can appear at any time of year but most frequently in late winter. The fruit takes 12 months to develop, so the tree can often flower and fruit at the same time. Fruits are usually ready for picking in November, but will last well on the tree for a long time.

Planting tips and hints:
Planting in containers:
Choose a pot with good drainage holes. Place stones or crocks (bits of broken pottery) at the bottom of the pot to stop the drainage holes clogging up. Use a good quality loam-based compost like John Innes no 2 and mix in up to 20% sharp sand or grit.
Feeding and aftercare:
Feed in spring and summer with a specialised high nitrogen citrus feed and in winter with a balanced citrus feed. Move to a frost-free environment in winter, but avoid rooms with central heating as the atmosphere will be too dry for citrus. Water sparingly in winter. Use rainwater rather than tap water when watering, especially in areas with very hard water
