Introduce a dose of technicoloured brilliance into your home with the fabulous foliage of Croton ‘Icetone’.

With its paddle-shaped leaves in shades of red, yellow and green it’s no wonder that this multi-hued houseplant has earned the nickname ‘Joseph’s Coat’.

Add one to a bright room, such as a conservatory, for an instant focal point.

Crotons, also known as codiaeum, like the temperature to be warm; don’t let the mercury fall below 15C and avoid draughts, close contact with radiators and direct sunlight in summer. Croton is toxic to pets and its sap is an irritant.

Keep compost moist with tepid water during the warmer months and water less in winter. Mist regularly to maintain humidity. Feed from March to September. Repot Crotons in spring they get too big. Cut off leaves that turn brown.

Wipe leaves to remove dust and mist during the growing season.

Croton is native to Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia.
