Our professional grade, reusable seed and cutting propagator kit is great for those who are looking for the most cost effective way to raise their plants. This 4 part kit will allow for the successful raising of up to 9 separate cells that could contain single or multiple sown plants. Each kit can be used to create the right climate to grow specific plants in and is also suitable for combing easily with a heated mat to provide the ideal condition for more temperature sensitive plants such as Tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers.

Each kit contains a water retaining base tray that has watering channels moulded into the base to allow for the easy movement of water throughout. Within this base sits a loose fit capillary mat that is made to fit the watering tray exactly and act as the wick between the water and the compost that is contained within the 9 cell tray. The 9 cell tray sits tightly within the watering tray on top of the capillary matting and allows for up to 9 separate plus of either single or multiple sown plants to be produced at any one time. Smooth sided for easy plant removal and incorporating water movement channels across the cells, this cell tray is ideal for the growing of all plants including those that prefer a deep rooting environment such as sweet peas, sweetcorn, peas and beans. Finally a transparent lid sits above the trays and provides that initial humid and warmer environment to get the plants started off. Easy to slightly position to one side or prop open to provide ventilation and even easier to remove once not required. The cell tray can be removed easily from the propagator for moving elsewhere to finish off growing.

The kit contains the following:

1 x watering trays – these professional base trays are flat bottomed and rise to a depth of 8 cm. They contain the capillary mat and as a watering tray they have no holes which means it acts as a water reservoir. Overall Dimensions L:20.5cm, W:17cm, D:9.5cm

2 x capillary mats – These professional grade capillary mats fit snuggly into the watering trays and act as a wick between the water reservoir and the compost in the cell trays. It is well proven that capillary matting provides water to the plants at the roots where they need it and when they want it promoting more even growth than simply using a watering can. Each Kit contains 2 capillary mats per tray providing a spare. Overall Dimensions L:15cm, W:12cm, D:1mm. We recommend soaking the mats in water initially to ensure they are fully primed for water uptake.

2 x 9 cell trays – Each Kit comes with two 9 cell trays allowing for one tray to be used in propagation and the other to be hardening plants off. Made to fit the watering trays perfectly, they are of high quality plastic that allows for them to be reused many times, the individual cells are smooth allowing for easier plant removal ahead of planting out and they are deep meaning more root growth opportunity for the plants, better water and nutrient retaining capabilities and as such healthier stronger plants. The deep nature of these cell trays allows greater flexibility in use as they are ideal for deeper rooting varieties such as sweet peas, sweetcorn, peas and beans, which can all be started off in these trays and transplanted directly into their final position with no root disturbance. Overall Dimensions L:18.3cm, W:15.3cm, D:8cm. Each one of the cells in tray measures L:5.4cm, W: 4.4cm, D:8cm and holds 0.19L of compost. To fill one 9 cell tray would require 1.7L of compost.

1 x Clear Lid – Each kit come complete with a transparent lid to provide a warm, humid environment for plant growth. This lid rests on top of the watering tray and is easy to prop open or remove completely for ventilation. Overall Dimensions L:19.5cmcm, W:16cm, H:9cm.

This seeds sowing kit can be used many times for many years and we would recommend the use of Citrox - an organic garden disinfectant, which can be used between sowings to clean all trays and capillary matting of any pests and diseases ahead of next usage.
