Description

Delphinium 'Magic Fountains White & Dark Bee' is a cottage garden favourite with sturdy flowerspires bearing satiny white flowers with striking dark centres. This relatively compact variety provides height in the border with less need for staking or supports than other delphiniums.
Sow indoors
April-May, August-October: Sow 6mm deep in individual pots of moist seed compost. Keep at a temperature of 15-20°C (59-68F) until after germination (14-21 days). Overwinter in cool, bright, frost free conditions. Water sparingly.
Plant out
May: Once frosts are past, harden off and plant out overwintered seedlings to their final position 30cm (12in) apart.
Tips
Support tall flowerspires with strong canes. Cut back faded flowerstems to encourage a second flush of flowers.
NB:
All parts of delphiniums are toxic if eaten, and contact with the foliage may cause skin irritation.
Please note - These seeds should ideally be sown this season. All our packets have ‘Sow by Date’ guidance on them, this is the date the seeds should be sown in order to achieve the highest rate of germination. You will still see the same high-quality plants if sowing in seasons after the ‘Sow by Date’ but may see a reduction in germination rate
