Edamame beans have been praised by the experts and are now available to you! An excellent source of protein you can eat these beans boiled, steamed or stir fried. In all these forms they are delicious and nutritious.
They give you a long crop from late summer to autumn when you grow them in a sunny site. These large creamy beans are nutritious and filling- a great addition to vegetarian dishes and bean casseroles. The latest way to eat them, popular in top restaurants, is steamed in their whole pods and dipped in rock salt to taste. You can choose to grow in a container or in direct soil – just be sure it’s a place in the sun where your plants will thrive and produce you lots of pods.
We recommend you position your plants so you can get to them easily for harvesting from late summer. Space plants 6in (15cm) apart when you transplant them to outside. Grow them in a sunny site so they thrive and produce high numbers of pods.
From one plant expect a bowl to colander-ful of pods for the kitchen larder.
Can’t plant straight away?
If you cannot plant up your bean plants straight away into their permanent position make sure the plugs of your plants are kept moist at all times.
You can place your plants on a saucer or tray of water so the plugs are immersed at the beginning of the day. Keep an eye on them and take them out of the water once the soil is moist from absorbing the water beneath.
Keep your plants in a well-ventilated and light position in their plastic container after giving them water. Look to planting in their permanent position within 5-7 days.

How to Guide
How your plants arrive
You receive 12 young plants in your pack. Each of your plants arrive to you as young plants containing a ‘plug’ of soil with roots running through them and some small green stems and leaves.
Although they are little they are the perfect size to get growing fast once you plant them up.
Your plants will arrive to you in a sealed plastic wallet or container contained in a bubble-lined envelope or a box for larger orders. The sealed container allows your young plants to stay healthy by giving them an ideal air and root environment when it arrives to you.
Check your 12 plants are there in the plastic container, according to your order.
