Description

The Erythronium collection contains erythronium bulbs of Dens-Canis and Pagoda. We suggest that you plant these erythronium bulbs in the autumn, within humus-rich soil in shade, about 5-10cm/2-4in deep. Choose a sheltered site to plant these erythronium bulbs, out of strong winds. Don't allow the tubers to dry out in storage.

Erythronium dens-canis AGM.

These European native plants are commonly called Dogs tooth violets because the tuber resemble a canine tooth. The spurred mauve-pink flowers appear in spring on slender stems that rise above large, heavily mottled leaves.

This erythronium variety has won the RHS award of Garden Merit (AGM) as an excellent garden plant. Erythronium are shade loving plants that make excellent groundcover under trees or shrubs and in shaded woodland borders. They add colour and interest with showy leaves and dainty flowers.

Erythronium Pagoda AGM

With glossy mottled foliage, and up to 10 large, pale lemon flowers on each stem, the upswept petals give the plant its name. The large tubers are easy to plant and handle and it is one of the easiest erythroniums to grow.

Erythronium Pagoda was one of the first hybrids, it was discovered in the 19th century and it is still a great garden worthy plant.

This erythronium variety has won the RHS award of Garden Merit (AGM) as an excellent garden plant.
