For full-on leafy loveliness, this gorgeous collection of foliage plants displayed in three white egg pots can’t be beaten. Enhance a room with the natural beauty of spider plant Chlorophytum comosum, dragon plant Dracaena marginata ‘Bicolour Tip’ and trailing jade Peperomia rotundifolia. All three are easy to grow and can be displayed together or separately.

(Chlorophytum comosum)

Spider plants have long been one of our favourite houseplants with its fantastic cascades of long green and white arching leaves. This supremely adaptable plant is a quick grower, easy to care for and will often produce plantlets attached to long stems which can be left in place or potted to make new plants. This supremely adaptable plant is able to cope with sunny windowsills or shade and hot or cool temperatures down to 4C (40F). Water it well in spring and summer and less in winter and mist occasionally over summer. Feed every other watering over the growing season using a houseplant fertiliser.

(Dracaena marginata ‘Bicolour Tip’)

Green, pink and cream tones combine to make the long narrow leaves of the bi-colour dragon plant Dracaena marginata ‘Bicolour Tip’ a real winner. Place it against a white wall for a stunning display of hue that’s bound to be a real talking point. Dracaena is easy to care for and its leaves are toxic to pets. Brown tips on dracaena are usually caused by dry air, which can be improved by using a mister to increase humidity. Bleached patches on leaves can be caused by too much sun. Feed between spring and autumn and make sure the temperature does not fall below 13C (55F).

(Peperomia rotundifolia).

Trailing jade Peperomia rotundifolia brightens rooms with its bright green succulent leaves carried on soft stems. This stunning plant, originally from South America, is easy to care for and loves to send its leaves over the edges of windowsills and shelves. Trim it back to maintain its shape. Peperomia is not toxic to pets. Make sure the temperature does not drop below 10C (50F). Feed using a diluted fertiliser once every two weeks in spring and once a month in summer.

Aftercare advice

All three plants thrive in averagely warm rooms with light shade, such as living rooms and hallways, or those that are brighter, although keep away from direct sunlight, draughts and radiators. Keep compost moist from spring to autumn but never allow these plants to sit in water. Reduce watering in winter. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust, mist regularly to increase humidity and cut off any foliage that goes brown.
