- Huge crops of deliciously tender and tasty beans of exceptional quality
- Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit
- Pick beans by the handful
Cobra is a green French bean, stringless for pleasant eating, that can be grown as a runner bean outdoors and also under glass for an early crop. It produces huge deliciously tender and tasty crops of exceptional quality beans and has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit for good performance on the vegetable plot.
With delightful violet flowers too, this is a vegetable plant beautiful enough for any flower border. Tall yet compact in habit Cobra is suitable for growing in beds with a little support or in raised beds, available from Marshalls, for gardeners that prefer not to crouch down to ground level to pick vegetables.
Harvest by the handfuls fresh green beans as early as July from planting in May. Great in the kitchen steamed or lightly boiled to accompany Sunday dinners.
In the garden French bean Cobra is an effective wind-break plant. If you have smaller and more fragile young plants plant Cobra nearby to filter winds coming in from windtunnels or exposed areas.
