Sunshine-yellow flowers with prominent yellow centres bob on tall stems above mounds of fresh green leaves. Low-maintenance and easy to grow, Gaillardia 'Mesa Yellow' is a magnet for butterflies and other pollinators. This robust perennial will cope with poor soil as long as it has good drainage, and is both drought and heat-tolerant.

Deadhead the faded flowers to encourage further blooms, and cut back the flowerstems in autumn. Divide plants every 2-3 years in spring to rejuvenate them.
