This Gillenia trifoliatabare root plant forms a delightful perennial which is equally loved for both its flowers and foliage, which turns to beautiful shades of red during the autumn. It will bear lots of dainty, white star-shaped flowers during midsummer and then, in autumn, the lovely, deeply lobed foliage changes colours from lush green to vibrant red.
After flowering Gillenia trifoliate forms attractive seed heads. Best planted near the front of border, and suited to a shady spot, so perfect for a woodland border.
Gillenia trifoliata is supplied as a bare root plant so plant it in beds or borders as soon as you receive it and water well. It prefers a fertile, slightly acidic soil with some protection from hot sun.
