- Disease resistant
- Large shafts
- Hold well through the winter
Wow the growers at the allotment with leek Musselburgh. This much-loved variety gives you large shafts ready to harvest from late summer and lasting right through the autumn and winter, holding well in the ground.
It’s extremely winter hardy and therefore very popular in colder areas where its reliability is second to none, making it one of the best varieties available.
Musselburgh is a mid-season, mild-flavoured leek with short, thick white stems. We recommend that you plant Musselburgh into 2 1/2cm (1in) deep holes as young plants and water into the holes. Allow the plants to thicken themselves which will eventually fill back the holes.
