Peppery leaves to add a real zing to you salads and garnishes, plus they are delicious with cream cheese too. Packed full of nutrition, tests have shown microgreens can contain up to 40 times higher levels of nutrients than their mature counterparts- and versatile.
Eat as a microgreen when they have grown their first set of leaves or wait for their second leaves to appear around a week later. Use them then as cut and come again salads which means you simply trim to just above the central growth bud as the leaves appear once again.
If you sow outdoors in spring you can wait until your nasturtiums flowers. Pick these; they are wonderful in salads. The petal are practically thirst-quenching yet has a pleasant peppery zing.
