The beauty of growing onions is that they are not a particular high maintenance plant, and If you have grown them before then you know the rewarding benefits of lifting your crops year on year.
Even being a low maintenance product they will benefit from a specific area of your garden or allotment that sees a lot of sun and well-drained soil
Plant from early March to late April and enjoy the results from Early August through to late September.
When the exciting time comes for harvesting your onions begin to loosen them from the ground, and when they are free from the ground allow a day or two to allow the settle. You can then store in a cool dry place.
