- Decades of rich rose-like flowers
- Summer-long blooms
This beautiful perennial is just perfect for UK gardens and allotments. The indented leaves emerge in early spring and then put up strong and sturdy flowering stems with handsome spherical buds that burst into rose-like flowers.
Peony Rubra Plena is a long-lasting perennial that you can divide and split and pop into other parts of your garden to up your plant numbers. Fragrant and frothy the beautiful red rose-like flowers are great to have in flower beds or cut and put in vases for your home.
Peony Rubra Plena is a particular favourite of Nikki, the Marshalls flower buyer. It’s planted in her garden and illuminates one of her flower beds every summer.
“My love of peonies comes from my dad’s passion for peonies which has been passed onto me. You can grow peonies in flowerbeds and they improve year after year in numbers and impact.”
(Nikki, Marshalls Flower Buyer)
Position plant supports over the emerging leaves in early spring. This prevents the rich, large flowers from flopping over later in the season. Add a mulch of rich compost early spring or in autumn to keep the soil moisture in.
