Enjoy making a big impact in the winter in your garden, simply with this one ‘24 plug plants’ pack of scented and attractive pansies. This Rhubarb and Custard Mix gives you trailing plants to 60cm (24in)- great for baskets and brings uplifting colour from December and right through to May.

Flowering happily in full sun or even part shade pansy Rhubarb & Custard is a success in UK gardens and allotments up and down the country. Every flower attracts beneficial insects at just the right time when insects are active after their winter sleep which means they are more likely to stick around through the summer to pollinate strawberry, bean and tomato flowers.

Growing suggestions:

Fill containers with spring bulbs like daffodils and tulips and place the plants of pansy Rhubarb & Custard on the top of containers (we suggest around six to eight plants per 30cm (12in) container).

Your pansies will bloom from December and in the spring dramatic daffodils and tulips will emerge between your pansies for a great container display up until May.

Helpful tip:

Transfer your plug plants into 9cm pots filled with soil for the first couple of weeks to let them settle into a larger container. When your plants have a few more leaves and reach around 10cm (4in) they are ready to go into their final position.

How your plants arrive:

Your plants are sent to you as young plants containing a ‘plug’ of soil with roots and some young green stems and leaves. Although they are small plants they are just the right size to get growing fast once you plant them in bigger pots.

Your flower plants will arrive to you in a plastic container with a lid (which acts as a mini-greenhouse) to create an effective humid atmosphere for your young plants to thrive and get a promising start to give you lovely flowers. Your container may come in a box for extra protection when leaving our nursery to arriving at your home.
