Growing Calendar
How to Guide
Sow outdoors
February-May: Sow thinly 1cm (1⁄2in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart directly into harvest location. Delay early sowings if soil is very cold or wet; later sowings will make up any lost time. Keep soil moist until seedlings are established. Thin to 10cm (4in) apart when they have 3 true leaves.
Tips
Parsnips are slow to germinate and grow best in well dug, stone free soil. Parsnips do not respond well to transplanting.
