Description
- Grow in isolation- you still get a good crop of fruit
- Grow in a bed or large pot to suit
- Perfect for eating or juicing
Enjoy the harvests of apple Elstar producing fruit that has the perfect sweet and sharp balance, delicious to eat straight from the tree or juiced for thirst-quenching home-made apple juice.
Elstar produces heavy, regular crops of apples which are greenish-yellow, flushed with red. The flavour and texture are honeyed and crisp with a satisfying bite.
We recommend that you grow your Elstar tree near other fruit and fruiting vegetables like tomatoes for optimum flower pollination and increase the chances of all flowers setting to fruit.
Grown on roots to restrict their height to 1.2m (4ft) when fully grown, they produce lots of fruit at a height for easy-picking.
This 2-year old specimen is self-fertile and will provide a notable crop of fruit in its second year.
If you can't plant up your fruit tree straight away we recommend that you keep your potted plant in a sunny position and keep the soil moist by watering each day. Look to planting into its permanent position within 5-7 days.

How your plants arrive
You receive our apple trees as young specimens at around 28in tall, growing strongly and sturdily and primed to produce lots of apples for you.
They arrive as a main stem studded with buds with lots of growing potential in spring.
The roots are covered in a pot in a polythene bag to keep the roots perfectly humid while transported from our nursery to your home.
When they first go in the ground, it’s their roots that really get growing; you won’t see this as it’s all happening underground. Once spring turns into summer those roots will promote lots of green growth above the soil.
