All these herbs love the sun and can even cope with a drought so long as they get lots of sun.

These herbs are so easy to grow and quick to produce you lots of edible leaves. We provide one plug plant each of thyme, oregano and basil which you simply add to a pot, water, place in a sunny site and watch grow to give lush leaves you can pick to zest up pizza tops.

Thyme vulgaris fredo

Smothered in tiny blossoms and aromatic leaves thyme is a magnet for insects in the garden.

An essential herb for use in the kitchen especially for Italian cooking and pasta.

Oregano vulgare Diablo

Oregano is a widely used herb in Greek and Italian cuisine to give flavour to tomato or lamb dishes.

Also used in traditional medicine for treating colds, indigestion and stomach upsets.

Basil African Blue

With dark purple veined leaves and impressive flower spikes, it makes a superb edible container plant. Use in the same way as regular basil, try the flowers scattered over your salads too.

Planting your Herb Plants

We recommend you plant 2 lots of 3 herb plug-plants to 1 pot with a 12in (30cm) diameter, to give you a nice full pot of lush leaves for picking through the summer. Just designate a third of the pot for two plants of each of the 3 herbs.

Plant up several pots so you have a continual supply- they make a great gift too to friends who enjoy cooking and have that culinary flair.

Grow in pots with free-draining compost to ensure the plants have the best soil to grow and thrive in.
