- Easy-grow superfood
- Adds welcome colour to the vegetable plot
- Avoid expensive supermarket packs
A 'super food' that’s extremely easy to grow, attractive and perennial to boot. Great-value and worth investing in. All you need is a sunny open, spot. Gluten-free, high in protein and full of vitamins- this is the perfect superfood to add to your diet and with so much at harvest-time there’s no need to pay over the odds at the shops.
Choose a sunny spot and watch these attractive plants grow to 1.8m (6ft) as the weather warms. As the seeds ripen the varieties in the blend give a rainbow of colour. Harvest when the leaves start to drop on a dry day by placing in a paper bag and drying thoroughly. Cook as required as you would rice or couscous.
We recommend you sow quinoa seeds in rows outdoors in April or May. Simply mark out a shallow furrow with your finger along the row. Sprinkle seeds along the row continually but thinly. Cover the seeds with soil and water.
