Enjoy rewarding runner bean Firestorm and Stardust plants, varieties uniquely bred to set fruit in the summer whether it’s cool and wet or hot and dry, ideal for the changeable UK weather.
You receive 6 plants each of varieties:
Runner bean Firestorm: Self-fertile runner bean plants with scarlet flowers producing big harvests of string-free beans throughout the summer.
Runner bean Stardust: French bean and runner bean hybrid with pure white flowers. Big harvests of beans that develop well whatever the weather.
Your 12 plants should fill a 4m x 0.5m sunny border, to give you an idea for space. If you wish to grow your runner beans in containers position three plants per container around an obelisk to climb up.
Your plants arrive to you in early summer at just the right time for planting. We deliver your plants in a reusable planting pack that acts like a mini greenhouse while they are in transit from our fields to your home. This means your plants get the best start and are growing strongly when they arrive with you.
We recommend that you treat your soil to a generous sprinkle of Pea and Bean Feed a week before planting to give your young plants an initial boost of nutrients when it comes to planting.
