If you love strawberries, this is the collection for you. We have chosen three different varieties – one early, one main and one late – so that you can have the longest cropping season possible.
You can expect one plant to give you about half a punnet in the first year and then a full punnet in the following two years. That is around 75 punnets of delicious strawberries from just 30 plants. The varieties we have selected are:
- Strawberry Marshmello (Main) – Described by gourmet chef Raymond Blanc as “the sweetest strawberry I have ever tasted!” They are at their best when harvested in June and July.
- Strawberry Malwina (Late) – This strawberry produces a deliciously sweet, dark red fruit. They are also vigorous and wilt tolerant and ready for harvest in August.
- Strawberry Vibrant (Early) – It has beautiful rich red berries, a superb taste and is a high yielding early strawberry. It crops from May and often again in September.
Strawberry Vibrant is protected by Plant Variety Rights and cannot be propagated even for own use and resold without licence.
You receive our strawberry plants in an envelope or box containing plants that each have a plant-base attached to lots or roots. This is perfect for planting up now as the roots are itching to get established in the ground which support lots of strong fruiting stems in the growing season for delicious strawberries.
The roots are covered in a little compost wrapped in a polythene bag to keep the roots perfectly humid while transported from our nursery to your home.
You can keep your young plants in their plastic wrap over for as long as 3-5 days so long as you make sure the soil part around the roots is kept moist. Keep your plants in a light, cool position like an unheated porch or greenhouse and look to plant them in their permanent position within 5 days.
