Keep one on its own or make your own little family: Echeveria has to be one of the cutest houseplants, with its eye-catching rosettes of silver-coloured, fleshy leaves, and it’s easy to care for too. This popular succulent comes from Mexico and thrives in warm, dry conditions.

Grow Echeveria in good light in a warm room, although it should survive in lower temperatures. It enjoys fresh air over summer.

Water in spring and summer if compost feels dry but infrequently over winter. Be careful not to overwater.

Echeverias are quite slow growing. Repot when they become too big for their pots and detach and pot up any offsets.
