Get cordon tomato Gardening Delight for your greenhouse. It’s an improved Gardener's Delight variety which was a favourite for decades- but started to behave erratically for the home-grower.
Problem solved, with the modern breeding behind Gardening Delight which has brought back the tangy flavour of old, long trusses loaded with cocktail-sized fruit (slightly larger than a cherry but smaller than standard sized tomatoes) and paired it with better disease-resistance to blight for more guaranteed good tomatoes.
We recommend you feed Gardening Delight tomatoes with a purpose-formulated tomato food high in potash when you see flowers appear. This gives them the boost they need for them to then get on with everything themselves to give you tomatoes through the summer.
When you receive your tomato plants by post, water lightly, then plant them up in small pots. If the stem tip is bent, rest assured, it will quickly right itself when exposed to daylight to grow straight and upright. Read our blog for more information on why tomato plants do this.
