- Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit
- Big harvest all summer long
- Generous-sized salad tomatoes
Cor blimey. This cordon will give you handsome harvests from scented tomato plants for months even in an non-heated greenhouse.
Shirley is a relatively compact, early-maturing variety yielding a reliable crop of sweet tomatoes through the summer. Its cordon-type vertical growth means it's a great contender for space-saving vertical gardening.
Recommended by the Royal Horticultural Society you're on a winner when you grow Shirley. Plants reach 2m (6 1/2 ft) and give you lots of fruited trusses of salad tomatoes all summer long.
We recommend you water once a day. Some growers water less to intensify the flavour of tomatoes. We like them reduced into tasty sauces where the flavour intensifies on cooking.

How to Guide
Water plants generously and regularly. When the first fruits start to swell, feed with a tomato fertiliser.
Support the main stem of each plant with a bamboo cane. Remove side shoots as they appear. Remove the growing point of each plant once 4 or 5 trusses have formed.
