Description
- Fragrant white flowers in summer
- Evergreen climber
- Ideal for a sheltered sunny wall
Trachelospermum jasminoides (star jasmine) is an evergreen climber with woody stems that will twine around wire supports with a little training. Clusters of starry white flowers appear in summer, with a heady fragrance that is most noticeable in the evenings.
In mild areas, star jasmine can be grown outdoors in well-drained, fertile soil, against a sunny sheltered wall. In areas with very cold winters (below -10°C/14°F) it is best grown as a conservatory plant.Water regularly from spring to autumn and apply a general-purpose fertilizer in spring.
Prune in spring if necessary to remove damaged or overcrowded stems and to keep to the desired size.
How your plants arrive
You will receive your plant in a 2-litre growers pot ready to plant out in the final location or to pot up into a large container.
Can’t plant straight away?
If you cannot plant up your potted shrub straight away into their permanent position make sure you keep the soil in the grower's pot moist and place it in a sunny position.
You can place your plant on a saucer or tray of shallow water so the plant is able to stay hydrated. Look to planting in its permanent position within 5-7 days.
