Description

  • Great for hanging indoors
  • Loves bathrooms and other humid rooms

Enjoy pots brimming over with strings of coin-shaped succulent leaves.

Young leaves occasionally have a powder-like bloom. In the right conditions dischidia produces yellow-white umbelifer flowers followed by small fruits.

Dischidia nummularia is an epiphyte, which attaches itself to trees in the wild. It likes humidity, taking moisture from the air and dew in its natural habitat, and bright but indirect light. Allow its compost to dry out before watering and make sure the roots never sit in water. Mist the plant every day. Humidity can also be increased by placing its pot on moist pebbles within a ceramic container.

Repot as required, using a chunky potting mix. Feeding isn’t usually necessary, but a diluted dose of liquid fertiliser can be given between March and September.
