Tokyo Silky Sweet has a such a soft texture, smooth skin and delicious flavour that it can be sliced and eaten raw in salads, or enjoy in stir fries. Very quick to crop, it is best picked and eaten young.

Tokyo Silky Sweet was an excellent find from the summer 2020 trials. We don't often get excited by Turnips, but this one is outstanding in flavour and texture and really caught our attention. Try it sliced and eaten raw and it may not even make it as far as the kitchen but, if it does, try it in salads or stir-fried. It's quick to crop too, so you won't have to wait long to enjoy it!

Plant out 15cm apart with a 30cm spacing between rows. Soil should be well-dug, but not recently manured.
