This is the perfect gap filler for your pond and creates large strands of bulrushes which provide cover for wildlife around your pond. Loved by passing small birds too this really is the pond plant for wildlife lovers.
Known also as reedmace, narrowleaf cattail and lesser bulrush this plant is recognisable around meres, lakes and larger ponds and is suitable for natural swimming pools.
Stems of bulrushes look great in cut flower displays too if you are looking to fill vases for windowsill and table displays indoors. Partner with colourful and attractive perennials like rudbeckias and dahlias.
We recommend you plant at a depth of 3-30cm (1-12in). (Zone 1,2 or 3- see planting diagram).
