Description
- Bumper crops of delicious sweet fruits
- Fruit ripens fast for an early harvest
- Big, bright red juicy fruits
- Superb resistance to soil-borne diseases, botrytis and mildew
- Perfect for small plots with no space for crop rotation
Exciting new Strawberry ‘Allegro’ produces bumper crops of big, bright red berries, very sweet and juicy with a delicious flavour. This early-cropping variety produces its flowers under its leaf canopy, so they’re protected from late frosts. The fruits ripen fast once produced, so you can enjoy mouth-watering strawberries from early summer, well before most other varieties are ready for picking.
‘Allegro’ has superb resistance to soil-borne diseases, making it perfect for small plots that don’t have space for crop rotation. It also shows excellent resistance to botrytis and mildew.
How you will receive your plants
Your bare root plants will arrive at your door at the right time for planting. Unpack them straight away and plant as soon as possible after delivery.
Can’t plant straight away?
If you can’t plant right away, keep the plants in their packaging in a cool dark place. Make sure the roots remain moist. We recommended you aim to plant them within seven days.
Planting tips and hints:
Before planting bare root plants, soak the roots in tepid water for a few minutes to rehydrate them.
Planting in containers: Plant in containers filled with multi-purpose compost, with the crown (where the leaves start to appear) at soil level. Water after planting
Planting in the ground: Plant in full sun in soil that has been enriched with well-rotted farmyard manure or garden compost. Ensure that the crown of the plant (where the leaves start to appear) is at soil level. Water after planting.
