Express Delivery as standard - new for 2022

We know how important your garden is to you. We've listened to our customers and introduced a new improved speedy delivery service this year to give you an even better experience when gardening with Marshalls.

  • Express delivery comes as standard
  • Fully tracked service means you can plan your day around the arrival of your delivery
  • We've invested in more space at our nursery and warehouse to ensure the best stock availability so you don't miss out on your seasonal favourites
  • All seeds, potatoes and garden accessories are sent within 24 hours of placing an order
  • All 'in stock' plants are sent within 3 days of placing an order
  • Order any 'in stock' plants, seeds, bulbs and gardening accessories including compost by noon on Thursdays for weekend delivery (deliveries up to 9pm on Saturdays).

Some of our products are delivered by our suppliers, such as HOTBIN, and will have a different delivery timescale. These are clearly indicated on individual product pages. Pre-order products will also display their specific expected future delivery date.

Seed Orders

Freshly picked, packed and dispatched by our expert team within 24hrs of placing your order 7 days a week.

To ensure your seeds arrive in the freshest condition and undamaged, they are carefully packed in specially designed, fully recyclable, padded seed envelopes. We use an express delivery service via Royal Mail to deliver to your door within 3 days of placing an order. For larger seed orders we use Yodel express delivery to ensure you receive your package within 3 days of placing your order with the addition of it being fully tracked for your piece of mind.

Potato Orders

When showing as 'In Stock' on the website product page your potatoes are freshly picked, packed and dispatched by our expert team within 24hrs of placing your order 7 days a week.

For 'Pre-Orders' please refer to the estimated delivery date on each product page. Further details in below table of when we send potato orders out.

Your potatoes are carefully selected to ensure the highest quality and sent via Yodel 24hr or 48hr delivery to ensure you receive your order ready for planting within 2 days of placing your order. This service is fully tracked for your peace of mind.

Onion, Shallot & Garlic Orders

When showing as 'In Stock' on the website product page your items are freshly picked, packed and dispatched by our expert team within 24hrs of placing your order 7 days a week.

Your onions, shallots & garlic are carefully selected to ensure the highest quality and sent via Yodel express 24hr or 48hr delivery service to ensure you receive your order ready for planting within 2 days of placing your order. This service is fully tracked for your peace of mind.

Bulb Orders

When showing as 'In Stock' on the product page your bulbs are freshly picked, packed and dispatched by our expert team within 24hrs of placing your order 7 days a week.

Plant Orders

All our plants are delivered fresh from our nursery. Plants showing as 'In Stock' on the individual product page will be dispatched by our expert nursery team within 3 days of placing your order 5 days a week, Sunday to Thursday.

For 'Pre-Orders' please refer to the estimated delivery date on each product page. Further details can be found in the table below of when we send different plant orders out.

We avoid sending plants in the post over the weekend to ensure they arrive with you in the freshest condition and all orders are sent via a tracked 24hr or 48hr Yodel service for your peace of mind.

Hardware Orders

All hardware items are despatched within 24hrs of placing your order 7 days a week unless otherwise stated on individual product pages.

Some of our products are delivered by our suppliers, such as HOTBIN, and will have a different delivery timescales. These are clearly indicated on individual product pages. In order for our supplier to contact you to arrange delivery, please leave your telephone number when prompted during checkout.

Bird Feed Orders

All bird food is despatched within 24hrs of placing your order 7 days a week unless otherwise stated on individual product pages.

Pre-Order Deliveries

Have you pre-ordered? When you buy with Marshalls often times you will purchase ahead of the growing season. Pre-ordering ensures items are grown and reserved for you. We only send plants out at the optimum planting time for that species and when the weather conditions are suitable.

Broad guidelines can be found in the table below. Specific timing for each plant can be found on individual product pages, as well as displayed when adding to your basket (e.g. ‘Delivery from mid-May').

We do everything possible to send out plants to you on the dates specified on our website or in our catalogue. However, some factors outside of our control, such as weather, may affect plant growth and therefore delivery dates. We will keep you updated if this occurs on expected delivery dates.

Seeds are now sent via Royal Mail 48hr service.

Bulbs, Onions, Shallots, Garlic & Potatoes

Bulbs & Potatoes are now sent via Yodel 24hr or 48hrservice. All orders are tracked and your Yodel tracking number can be found in your order despatch email confirmation which can be used on the Yodel website, or by downloading their app to track the delivery status of your package.

Hardware & Bird Food

Hardware goods and Bird Food are now sent via Yodel 24hr or 48hr service. All orders are tracked and your Yodel tracking number can be found in your order despatch email confirmation which can be used on the Yodel website, or by downloading their app to track the delivery status of your package.

Plants

All plants are now sent out Sunday to Thursday via 24hr & 48hr Yodel service. All orders are tracked and your Yodel tracking number can be found in your order despatch email confirmation which can be used on the Yodel website, or by downloading their app to track the delivery status of your package.

Delivery Charges

  • Seed only orders delivery charge is £2.49 (if you add anything else to your order, you will be charged the standard delivery rate of £5.99)
  • Any other order is charged at £5.99
  • If we need to split your order into multiple deliveries we will only charge you once for postage
  • A small number of extra-large, extra-long and heavy items are charged at £9.99 and this will be clearly displayed at checkout.
  • Please see list of restricted postal areas that incur additional delivery charges below.
  • Compost and some other large or heavy items will be subject to a delivery multiplier in which orders containing three or four items will be subject to an additional £5.99 charge, this will then increase by an additional £5.99 for every further two items added. This additional charge is automatically applied at checkout. For example;

Restricted Postal Areas

Areas of Great Britain which incur restrictions and additional charges (Scottish Highlands and Islands).

  • Heavy and bulky items such as raised beds, tunnels, outdoor furniture, sheds, playhouses, power tools (electric and petrol), greenhouses, wormeries, HOTBIN composters and Aerobin composters incur some delivery restrictions and additional costs. We reserve the right to contact you to amend delivery costs, subject to your approval, to reflect the additional delivery charges. Please contact our Customer Service team on 01480 774555 for which exact items the charges apply to if your delivery address is in the Scottish Highlands or Islands.

  • Isle of Wight/Isle of Man - £40 for 6ft buildings, £60 for 8ft buildings and £80 for 9ft or higher buildings.
  • Scottish Islands - £50 for 6ft buildings, £70 for 8ft buildings and £80 for 9ft or higher buildings.

Composters, wormeries and water butts

Delivery surcharges will apply to the following locations:

  • Scottish Highlands - £13.69.
  • AB36-56, FK 17-21, IVI-39, IV52-54 & IV63, KW1-14, PA21-40, PH19-50 - Scottish Highland postcodes - £13.69.
  • Scottish Islands - £19.68.
  • HS1-9, IV40-51 & 55-56, KA27-28, KW15-17, PA20, PA41-49 & PA60-78, PH42-44, ZE1-3 - Scottish Islands postcodes - £19.68.
  • Isle of Man & Scilly Isles (TR, IM) - £25 for Aerobin & £13.69 for smaller items.
  • Isle of Wight (PO30 - PO41) - £13.69.

Delivery to Northern Ireland

Due to new customs and plant health controls we are no longer able to deliver to Northern Ireland. We will continue to review this and hope to resume this service as soon as possible.

Overseas Delivery

We regret we are unable to deliver any products to non-mainland GB delivery addresses. This includes Europe, Channel Islands, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, USA and Rest of World. We will update our website if this changes.
