Pumpkin seeds should be sown indoors from April to May, around 3-4 weeks before the last frost, to give plants a head start. For outdoor sowing, wait until late May or June, once the risk of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up.

How to plant Pumpkin Seeds

Sow seeds 2-3 cm deep in pots or trays filled with compost. Keep the seeds in a warm location (18-21°C) for germination, which takes 7-14 days. Once seedlings have at least two sets of true leaves, harden them off before transplanting outdoors into well-drained, fertile soil. Space the plants 1-1.5 meters apart to allow them room to spread.
