When should I plant Lily Bulbs? 

Lily bulbs can be planted in autumn, winter or early spring, provided the ground is not frozen or waterlogged. Planting in autumn gives bulbs time to establish roots before the growing season, while spring planting can still produce beautiful summer flowers. 

How do I plant Lily Bulbs? 

Plant lily bulbs in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Most lilies should be planted around 15cm deep, although planting depth can vary depending on the variety. When growing in containers, use a good-quality compost and ensure adequate drainage. Water after planting and keep the soil lightly moist while plants establish. 

Can Lily Bulbs be grown in pots? 

Yes, lilies are excellent container plants. Many varieties thrive in large pots and patio containers, making them ideal for gardens of any size. Growing lilies in containers also allows you to position their fragrant flowers close to seating areas, entrances or windows. 

How long do Lily Bulbs flower for?

Are Lily Bulbs poisonous to pets? 

Yes. True lilies can be highly toxic to cats, and ingestion of any part of the plant, including flowers, leaves or pollen, can cause serious illness. If you have pets, particularly cats, it is important to research suitable varieties and seek veterinary advice immediately if you suspect ingestion.
