This all in one Potato Gro-Kit for Jazzy allows you to grow delicious Potatoes and home in even the smallest of places and rewards you with big quantities of potatoes, perfect for making potato salads. Versatile Jazzy makes impressive roasties and good mash potato too. This variety gives impressive yields.
Planting seed potatoes into this well-sized potato planter is easy. Plus, it enables you to easily locate it either on the side of your allotment, patio, backyard or even on the balcony; wherever is most convenient to you.
We recommend that you pile up the surrounding soil halfway up the stems every time your plants grow an extra 5-10cm. This keeps the potatoes in the soil healthy and prevents them from turning green.
To use, simply half-fill the potato planter with compost and fertiliser, and plant in the seed potatoes from July. As the plants grow, add more compost and fertiliser to fill the potato planter, water regularly and harvest late autumn to early winter.
To protect your potatoes from frost damage, cover them with a horticultural fleece when temperatures start to plummet at night. If your potato planters aren't too heavy, bring them indoors on cold nights and return them outdoors during the day.
As the stems of the potato plants start to develop, earth up the soil around the base every few days or so. This will discourage the edible tubers from greening-up and will prevent them from becoming poisonous.
