Flowering
Nature's Haven Lavender Ellagance Purple Seeds create a branched and bushy uniform plant of vigorous lavender. With an abundance of purple flower spires with grey green foliage in summer, they are perfect for sunny patios and borders.
Ellagance Purple is a Modern variety of 'English' Lavender that's also ideal for hedging. Lavender is a natural insect repellent, especially for ants, so can be very useful for gardeners looking to repel ants from their garden!
Sowing IndoorsAlmost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover them with a little more compost. Alternatively sow seed in a module tray. Place in the warmth, 15-20°C and keep moist.
Transplanting/Growing OnKeep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5cm apart into trays of potting compost. Alternatively, transplant individually into 8cm pots.
Hardening Off/Planting OutGradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out from early summer onwards. Allow 35cm between plants.
AftercareTrim back after flowering to maintain a compact habit.AdviceEarly sowings will flower for the first time in the same year as sowing.
How to grow
Sow seeds on to the surface of pre-watered seed compost, but don't cover them. Keep warm, around 20°C and keep moist, but not wet. Allow 1-2 weeks for germination.
