Lavender ‘Hidcote Blue’ is one of the most popular lavender varieties, forming a compact mound of aromatic silvery foliage topped with scented violet-blue flowers in summer. This reliable dwarf lavender is very pollinator-friendly and a great choice for wildlife-friendly gardens and small spaces. It has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
How you will receive your plants:
Selected by our team of experts and sent from our nursery, you will receive your garden ready plug plants in plug trays in a box. These are designed to keep your plants secure and to prevent damage in transit.
Can’t plant straight away?
If you aren't able to plant your plugs up straight away then ensure they stay moist. You can place your plugs on a saucer or tray of shallow water so they are able to stay hydrated. Aim to have your plugs planted within 3 days.
Planting tips and hints:
Planting in the ground: Plant in a sunny spot in well-drained soil.
Planting in containers: Plant in a container filled with John Innes No. 3 compost mixed with horticultural grit to improve drainage. Place the container where it will get at least 6 hours of direct sunlight and water well to settle the plants in.
Feeding and aftercare: Water regularly during the first year after planting to help the plants establish, and water container-grown plants regularly in dry periods. Cut back faded flowerheads in summer and prune the plants in spring to shape them, taking care not to cut back into old wood.
